Your wedding at Holy Trinity

At Holy Trinity we can help you build a relationship that will weather the guaranteed storms of life so that (God-willing) you can be there as a couple for your children and grand-children.

Love and a ceremony are just two important ingredients. You also need three very special things:
- Commitment
- Community
- Conviction

Getting married with us, we can help you with all three of those vital things:
Commitment - we help you explore what it looks like to publicly make and keep these extraordinary promises: "for better, for worse, for richer for poorer ... until death us do part." We help you prepare not just for the day but for lifelong marriage.
Community - a relationship needs far more than just the couple for it to survive the extraordinary challenges of life. It needs the help and support of the wider family and community. We help you explore how to make that work.
Conviction - we help you explore your own beliefs and how knowing God will give you an anchor for your marriage and strength for the challenges, helping you to build a marriage that lasts. 

We of course will also help you with the wedding day, to make it a day in which in community you make your marriage commitment with conviction. So, as well as support with the above, we will provide:
  • help in personalising the service with entrance and exit music, hymns and songs (if you want them), and Bible readings;
  • help in finding an organist or musicians (if you need them);
  • marriage (not just wedding) preparation sessions;
  • a commitment to pray for you when your Banns are read and in the build-up to the big day.
 
What next?

First, if you are a regular member of the congregation, before anything else, speak to the Vicar.

Second, and this is very important if you are wanting to get married at Holy Trinity, please do not confirm any bookings (e.g. with reception venue) until we have confirmed a date with you.

Third, you need to be aware that if you have been married before and your ex-spouse is still alive then we will be unable to marry you this time. Sorry.

Fourth, please be aware that we are due to be having significant building works at Holy Trinity and so we are sadly not taking bookings for 2025, but we will consider from Easter 2026.

Then, fifth, register your interest here on the form at the very bottom of this page. We will then get in contact with you to arrange to meet to talk about your booking. When you come to the bookings session, you will need to bring:

  • your fiancé/fiancée
Each of you will need to bring:
  • your passport OR (if born before 1983) your birth certificate and proof of current use of name OR (if you don't have a passport) your birth certificate and one of your parent's birth certificate
  • proof of your address (e.g. recent utility bill)

When will I be able to confirm a date?
If you bring your deposit (£100) with you to the booking session we will try to confirm a date for your wedding within ten days of you coming along, though this might be longer if the minister is on holiday.  Otherwise, we will seek to confirm your date within ten days of receiving your deposit. I am afraid we cannot promise that your preferred date will be available so please don’t book anything until we have confirmed when your wedding will be.

In the meantime, why not come and join us on a Sunday to meet the rest of the church community who will be praying for you in the run-up to your big day.  Also, have a look at the "yourchurchwedding" website which contains much of the information you need to help plan your special day.

  • The £100 deposit needs to be paid within 6 weeks of booking your wedding and counts towards the cost of your wedding. Please note: should you sadly have to cancel your booking, £50 of this is non-refundable. The other £50 is refundable if you let us know more than 6 months before the wedding date.
