Your wedding at Holy Trinity
Congratulations on your engagement! We are excited that you are considering getting married at Holy Trinity Church, Old Hill.
There is nothing quite as special as a church wedding. By choosing to get married in church you are:
involving the God who made you;
making very special promises to your spouse in front of your family, friends and God;
rejoicing in marriage as a wonderful gift from God;
recognising we need God's help to keep our marriage promises.
At Holy Trinity we don't just want to help you have a brilliant wedding but also prepare you for a life time together.
So, as part of helping you with your wedding we provide:
help in personalising the service with entrance and exit music, hymns and songs (if you want them), and Bible readings;
help in finding organist or musicians (if you need them);
marriage (not just wedding) preparation sessions;
a commitment to pray for you when your Banns are read and in the build up to the big day.
First, if you are a regular member of the congregation, before anything else, speak to the Vicar.
Second, and this is very important, if you are wanting to get married at Holy Trinity please do not confirm any bookings (e.g. with reception venue) until we have confirmed a date with you.
Third, you need to be aware that if you have been married before and your ex-spouse is still alive then we will be unable to marry you this time. Sorry.
Then, fourth, book up an appointment for a meeting in the church centre. Book here.
When you come to the bookings session, you will need to bring:
Each of you will need to bring:
proof of your address (e.g. recent utility bill)
We would love to talk about helping you prepare for this next stage of life together.
When will I be able to confirm a date?
If you bring your deposit (£100) with you to the booking session we will try to confirm a date for your wedding within ten days of you coming along, though this might be longer if the minister is on holiday. Otherwise we will seek to confirm your date within ten days of receiving your deposit. I am afraid we cannot promise that your preferred date will be available so please don’t book anything until we have confirmed when your wedding will be.
In the meantime, why not come and join us on a Sunday to meet the rest of the church community who will be praying for you in the run up to your big day. Also, have a look at the yourchurchwedding
