Experience Easter - 31st March

This year were excited to be running Experience Easter.  Experience Easter is an interactive experience where the Easter story is brought to life.  Come and join us in the Church grounds and bring all the family and experience the Easter story like never before. This is an outdoors event for families and children to learn more about the final week of King Jesus, to journey with him to the cross and then to share in the Good News of the greatest day in history.  We will imagine that we are standing outside the City of Jerusalem 2000 years ago.   As we journey with Jesus and his friends, we will travel from the shadows of a garden, hearing the shouts of the soldiers and the clash of swords to the busyness of a crowded courtyard.   We will stand by the cross and then stand in wander at the mystery of the empty tomb.  We will hear about just before dawn on the third day after Jesus had died when Mary Magdalene and her friend arrived at the tomb of Jesus.  An angel told them “Do not be afraid,” Jesus is not here. He has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.  This is a free event!

Meet at 2pm on Tuesday 31st March 2026 outside the main doors of Holy Trinity church, Old Hill.

Join in with the celebrations and take part in craft activities and an Easter egg hunt!  We will also be offering hot cross buns!

Don’t worry about the weather – the event will go ahead.

Easter Article Header - FAQs

Q:  Who can come to a Holy Trinity Service?
A:  This is an easy one! Anyone

Q: Do I need to be a Christian or believe anything already?
A:  Not at all. Everyone is genuinely welcome, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey. Whether you have strong faith, are simply curious, have doubts, or have no faith at all, you are welcome to come and explore.

Q: Do I need to pay to attend?
A: No, absolutely not! Church services are completely free to attend.   We may talk about giving because we rely on generosity.  We have ways to give like this page and a contactless terminal in Church.   As a guest, please do not feel any pressure or obligation to contribute.

Q:  What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
A: Please "Come as you are!" There is no dress code.

Q:  Will my children be welcome or are they too noisy?
A: Absolutely welcome - our all age services are aimed at all ages, if not we have parts of our services where the children go to their own groups with age appropriate material.  Or they can stay with you either way they are welcome!

Q: How long does a service last?
A: Tricky as service time does vary, most services are around 75 minutes

Q: Do I have to participate in everything?
A: No. You are free to simply observe. If the congregation stands to sing or recite something, you can remain seated if you prefer. We want you to feel relaxed and not put on the spot.  The leader of the service will guide us through and tell us what is happening.

Q: Will I be singled out as a visitor?
A: We strive to make guests feel welcome without feeling embarrassed. We won't ask you to stand up or introduce yourself from the front. Our hope is that you can experience the service naturally.

Q: Can I come to one service or do I have to commit to be a regular attendee?
A:  Whatever suits you. Come to all of them, come to one of them - no pressure

Q: Is there parking available?
A:  We have some parking on site if not there is on-street parking nearby

Q:  Why should I come to Church?
A:  "That’s a great question. Sociologists often talk about the 'third space'—a place that isn't work and isn't home. Church offers exactly that: a supportive community to walk with you through both the high points and the hard patches of life.  It’s a unique environment where every generation mingles, allowing us to build friendships with people we might never meet elsewhere. It offers a meaningful place to volunteer and 'give back,' while providing a much-needed sanctuary from the digital world. In a life filled with emails and scrolling, it’s a space to sit, reflect, and breathe.

We believe that while the world focuses on the 'what,' faith helps us focus on the 'why.' At Holy Trinity, we find that answer in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, and our hope is that being part of this community helps us become a little more like him every day."

And if coming to Church seems a step to far this Easter then remember a lot of our services are streamed on YouTube and you can follow from the comfort of your own home - simply click the pic below to visit our channel.
